4.1.3. Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the air cleaner and disconnect fuel hoses.
  3. Empty the cooling system and disconnect the top hose of a radiator from a thermostat cover.
  4. Disconnect vacuum hoses of the amplifier of brakes and the servo-driver of coupling (if that is included in the package) from the inlet pipeline.
  5. Disconnect the lower heating hose from a partition of a motive compartment and from a pipe of a forward cover under the pipeline.
  6. On the models equipped with the conditioner of air disconnect vacuum hoses from a damper of a butterfly valve and the inlet pipeline.
  7. Mark and disconnect hoses of a coal adsorber from tubes in a forward part of the engine. Release the top hose of a radiator from an adsorber tube arm.
  8. Weaken nuts of fastening of a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve on the arm, turn of the lever transfer the gate to completely open situation and take the end of a cable from the holder. Remove a cable aside, having laid it so that it did not prevent further work.
  9. Disunite the electric socket of the carburetor.
  10. Give a fixing nut of an arm of the directing tube of the measuring probe and take a tube from an arm.
  11. Gradually weaken fixture of the inlet pipeline, moving on a spiral since the external ends of the pipeline to the middle.
  12. Carefully remove the inlet pipeline (see an accompanying illustration), watching to allowing hit of dirt in the engine. You will throw out old laying.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Previously carefully smooth out all interfaced pro-masonry surfaces and check them for existence of signs of violation of planeness. In case of need make a pipeline pro-point, or replace it.
  2. At assembly surely use new laying.
  3. In stages tighten fixture of the inlet pipeline with the required effort. Begin from the center and move on a spiral outside.
  4. Connect all components disconnected in the course of dismantle.
  5. Fill in cooling liquid in a radiator.
  6. Start the engine and check it for existence of losses of depression, and also leak of fuel and oil.

The models of 4.2 l of late years of release equipped with system of injection of fuel (EFI)

Assembly of the inlet pipeline on these engines consists of two parts - the delivery camera and actually inlet pipeline. For simplicity of a statement both parts are called further as the inlet pipeline.



 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Removal and installation of the engine of 4.2 l of EFI).
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. Disconnect vacuum hoses of the amplifier of brakes and the servo-driver of coupling (if that is included in the package) from the inlet pipeline.
  4. Merge liquid from the cooling system, having lowered its level lower than the level of an arrangement of a head of cylinders.
  5. Weaken collars and disconnect the top hose of a radiator and a ventilating hose from a thermostat cover. Disconnect perepuskny a hose from a forward part of the pipeline under a thermostat cover.
  6. Mark and disconnect a hose of supply of fuel from a tube of the fuel highway, and also a returnable fuel pipe from the fuel pressure regulator.
  7. Weaken collars of fastening of a sleeve of an air duct complete with the muffler on the case of a throttle and the measuring instrument of an air stream.
  8. Move the drive of a butterfly valve and disconnect the cable core. Give a bolt and remove a sleeve from the car. Weaken adjusting nuts of a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve and release a cable from an arm.
  9. Disconnect the following hoses:
    1. PCV hose - from a forward part of the inlet pipeline;
    2. Hose of a purge of a coal adsorber - from the case of a throttle and a back part of the inlet pipeline (for a guarantee of correctness of connection at assembly do not forget to mark shlag);
    3. Inlet hose of the air regulator - from the tube which is built in in a back part of a cover of a head of cylinders.
  10. Give bolts of fastening of hose tubes to a wall of the inlet pipeline. Disconnect heating hoses from the inlet pipeline, remembering an order of their connection.
  11. Disunite three electric sockets located on an arm in a forward part of the inlet pipeline. disconnect an electrical wiring from the electromagnetic valve of a purge of a coal adsorber in a back part of a cover of a head of cylinders and from temperature sensor block in a forward part of a head of cylinders.
  12. Give bolts of fastening of the inlet pipeline to a head of cylinders and remove the pipeline from the car.
  13. In case of need actually inlet pipeline can be separated from the delivery camera after an otdavaniye of fixing bolts.

You make installation upside-down, taking into account the next moments:

  1. Previously carefully smooth out all interfaced surfaces and check them for existence of signs of violation of planeness and other defects. In case of need make a pro-point of the inlet pipeline, or replace it.
  2. At installation use only new laying.
  3. Tighten fixture of the inlet pipeline with the required effort in several stages, moving on a spiral from the center outside.
  4. You watch reliability of connection of all electric and hose sockets.
  5. You make gas station of a radiator as it is described in the Head of the Cooling system, heating and conditioning of a vokhdukh for models of 4.2 l of EFI.
  6. In conclusion start the engine and check it for existence of signs of losses of depression, and also leak of fuel and water.
