11. Brake system
Management of functioning of the brake system is made by means of the double-circuit main brake cylinder (MBC) of the dual type jointed with the vacuum amplifier (the servo-driver block) of brakes.
Forward wheels of the car are equipped with disk brake mechanisms, back - drum (with a vertical arrangement of boots). The option of a complete set of all wheels disk mechanisms is possible. For safety reasons contours of forward and back brakes are divided and work independently from each other.
The hydraulic system of some models is equipped with the valve, sensitive to loading of the car, - pressure regulator allowing to avoid premature blocking of back wheels.
The valve is installed under the bottom of the car and is connected by a stretching spring to the back bridge.
Are a part of assemblies of disk brake mechanisms the brake disk fixed on a nave of a wheel and the support located on a rotary fist (forward mechanisms) or on assembly of the back bridge. Disk brake mechanisms do not need adjustment.
Drum mechanisms consist of the bilateral wheel cylinder which pistons influence the top ends of brake boots. Lower parts of boots are fixed not movably. Adjustment of drum mechanisms is made automatically in the course of braking.
The parking brake is executed in the form of the drum assembly established in a back part of transmission and equipped with the hummock drive.
Disk brake mechanisms of models of 4.2 l of EFI late (since 1992) years of release are modified due to application of 2-piston supports and bigger diameter of brake disks. At the same time all procedures of repair and service stated below remain invariable. Components of a 2-piston support are shown on an accompanying illustration.
