4.1.13. Service of a flywheel / driving disk

Performance of the works described below will require the following special equipment: dial measuring instrument of plunger type and suitable source of heat (blowtorch or gas torch).

For ensuring access to a flywheel / the driving disk needs to remove either the engine, or transmission. The choice is left to the discretion of the performer depending on existence near at hand of the corresponding lifting equipment.

Removal and installation

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the engine, or transmission.
  2. On models with RKPP mark the adjusting provision of a basket of coupling on a flywheel. Gradually weaken and turn out fixing bolts, remove a basket from the directing pins and take coupling assembly.
  3. Block from a provorachivaniye a flywheel / a driving disk and turn out bolts of its fastening (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Having marked the adjusting provision of a flywheel / a driving disk on a pin of a bent shaft, remove it from the car.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Installation is made upside-down.
  2. Track correctness of combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle. Tighten bolts of fastening of a flywheel / a driving disk with the required effort.
  3. On models with RKPP center the conducted clutch plate on the directing plug of a bent shaft, having used an old main shaft of the transmission or the special centering tool for this purpose. In stages, working in a diagonal order, tighten bolts of fastening of a basket of coupling with the required effort.

Check of a state

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Estimate the size of a beating (working) surface of a flywheel contacting to a disk the coupling/converter of rotation / a driving disk. If the size of a beating both the flywheel removed from a bent shaft, and put on it / a driving disk exceeds 0.1 mm, the knot should be replaced.
  2. Check a working surface of a flywheel for existence of cracks, deep scratches and zadir.
  3. Check wreath teeth for existence of chips, cracks and signs of operation.

Replacement of a gear wreath of a flywheel is possible, there is no driving disk-!

  1. Remove a flywheel from the car and drill an opening of ø of 3 mm between two teeth of a wreath.

The opening should not be through in order to avoid damage of a flange of a flywheel.

  1. Place a chisel over the drilled opening and sharp blows of the hammer split a wreath.
  2. Remove a wreath from a flywheel, then remove from a landing surface the agnails left at removal and teases.
  3. Zapoliruyte an emery paper on povit several sites a new gear wreath and begin to heat the last until the polished sites do not get a dark blue shade.
  4. Quickly put on a wreath a flywheel facets of teeth up and from a flywheel flange. Make sure of reliability of landing of a wreath and density of its pressing to a flange.

Let's a wreath cool down in the natural way, do not pour over it water at all!
