2.6. Diagnostics of malfunctions of coupling
Coupling revolves
The free wheeling of a pedal of coupling is insufficient. Check, make adjustment.
The coupling switching off mechanism is faulty. Check, make necessary repair.
It is faulty the main or executive cylinders of coupling. Check, execute capital repairs of hydraulic system of the drive of coupling.
The servo-driver block (model of 4.2 l) is faulty. Check, in case of need replace.

Usually the first sign of pro-slipping of coupling is noticeable causeless increase in turns of the engine at capture of steep slopes. For check of a condition of coupling firmly cock the parking brake, prop up car wheels wedges and establish transmission in the provision of the highest transfer, then at average turns of the engine slowly release coupling. If the engine at the same time does not decay, coupling pro-slipping takes place. In order to avoid more serious damages of coupling it is necessary to execute immediately check and to make necessary repair or replacements. |
Breakthroughs and vibrations of coupling take place
Working surfaces of the conducted disk are polluted by oil. Check, in case of need replace a disk. Find a source of leak and remove its cause.
Weakened, or the nave of the conducted disk is damaged. Check, replace a disk.
Fastening of frictional overlays of the conducted disk weakened. Check, replace a disk.

Vibration of coupling is usually most noticeable at the movement by a backing up a bias. As one of the causes of vibrations is weakening of support of the power unit before removing coupling for survey, carefully check a condition of rubber pillows and arms of support, and also reliability of their fastening. |

Jammed a nave of the conducted disk on vents of a main shaft of the transmission. Check, as necessary replace a disk, or a main shaft.
The conducted disk "stuck" to a flywheel owing to hit in a moisture coupling casing. Check a condition of coupling, seal a casing.
The servo-driver block (model of 4.2 l) is faulty. Check, replace the block.

As in most cases incompleteness of switching off of coupling appears the adjustment of a free wheeling, or installation of height of a pedal of coupling connected with violation before removing coupling for survey, carefully check correctness of the corresponding installations and pump over hydraulic system. |
When functioning coupling extraneous noises take place
The release bearing is overdried or worn-out. Check, replace the bearing.

It is worn-out, or the directing plug of a main shaft is not greased. Check, in case of need replace the plug.

For check of the noise published by the release bearing slightly squeeze out a coupling pedal at the working engine. If the release bearing is faulty and demands replacement surely check also a condition of other components of coupling. |
