14:12. Electrical wiring of power supply of electric equipment of the trailer

General information

Several types of farkopny sockets with various arrangement of plugs in them are issued. The most widespread is the 7-contact socket providing formation of two additional contours which are usually used for giving of food on fires of a backing and electric brake mechanisms of the trailer.

At the turnbuckle equipment perhaps it is necessary to replace the former breaker of indexes of turns with more powerful for the purpose of support stipulated in traffic regulations of frequency of a blinking of signal lights accepted in the concrete region. The authorities of some regions order also obligatory installation on the dashboard of control repeaters of indexes of turns.

If the reception nest of the farkopny socket does not correspond on a standard size to the plug installed on the trailer, it is necessary to acquire one of the suitable released transitional nozzles (see an accompanying illustration).

Installation of the farkopny socket

For the equipment of the hook-on device the reception nest of the farkopny socket required (on a minimum): the reception nest corresponding to the trailer plug, a basic arm, a 7-wire flexible cable, the isolated sockets for connection of wires and the rubber plug through passage.

Necessary components for the trailer power supply equipment with use of the farkopny Utilux socket.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
Find a plait of an electrical wiring of lamps in a back part of the car.
Find wires of food of the right and left back indexes of turns, back marker lights, stoplights, fires of a backing and weight. Using the schemes of electric connections provided in the end of this Chapter, define color marking of each of the listed wires.
By means of the isolated sockets connect a 7-wire flexible cable to each of the found wires.
In case of use of the farkopny socket of 7-contact type adhere to the following standard scheme of the color coding:

In case of use of the farkopny socket of 6-contact type adhere to the following standard scheme of the color coding:

In case of use of the farkopny socket of 5-contact type adhere to the following standard scheme of the color coding:

Drill a suitable opening in the car floor panel and install in it the rubber plug through passage.

Before boring through an opening, check whether it is impossible to use any of already available technological. The plug through passage has to be installed without fail in order to avoid wiping of wires.

Pass throughout an opening with the installed plug through passage a 7-wire flexible cable.
Cut off a cable at the required length and put on it a boot.
Smooth out each of cable veins from isolation approximately on 15 mm.
Connect cable veins to plugs of a reception nest, observing the standard color scheme and following instructions of manufacturers of the socket.
Collect a nest and establish a boot on its back end. Components of the 7-contact farkopny Brylite socket are shown on an accompanying illustration.

Establish a basic arm as it is possible closer to a spherical finger of the hook-on device and it is rather high to observe a road gleam of the car.
Establish a reception nest of the socket in an arm.
Connect the trailer plug to a reception nest of a turnbuckle for check of serviceability of their joining.

Installation of the plug of the trailer

For the trailer equipment the plug of the farkopny socket required (on a minimum): the plug corresponding to a reception nest of the socket on the car, a 7-wire flexible cable and the isolated sockets for connection of wires.

The procedure of installation of the plug on the trailer is similar that for installation of a reception nest of the socket on the car, taking into account the listed below moments.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

You make connection of an electrical wiring of the trailer to the plug of the socket according to the standard standard of color marking. Follow instructions of manufacturers of the socket. If the free length of a plait of wires of the trailer appears insufficiently, increase a plait by means of a 7-wire flexible cable and the isolated sockets for connection of wires.
If color scale of an electrical wiring of the trailer does not conform to the standard standard, identify each of wires for what:

Find a wire of mass of the trailer;
Connect a wire crossing point from the negative plug of the 12-voltny battery to a weight wire;
Connect a wire crossing point to the positive plug of the battery and serially connect to it each of trailer plait wires. Write down color of each wire and the device (alarm fire / brake) which worked at its connection.

After completion of installation connect the plug to a reception nest of a turnbuckle on the car for check of serviceability of joining of components of the socket.
