4.2.11. Service of a bent shaft and radical bearings

For implementation of the procedures described below a stripper (for removal of a cogwheel of a bent shaft), the micrometer and the dial measuring instrument of plunger type will be necessary.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Take off a gas-distributing belt, the case pallet, a maslozabornik of the oil pump, the oil pump, a flywheel and the holder of a back epiploon from the engine taken from the car.
  2. Turn out from the spark plug engine.
  3. Give fixing nuts and uncover the lower heads of rods, putting them as installation on the engine. Carefully push conrod and piston assemblies up in cylinders, without reaching the upper bound of the course of pistons.

Check existence on rods and covers of conrod bearings of identification tags.


  1. By means of the probe of lezviyny type (on the fourth radical bearing - see an accompanying illustration), or the dial measuring instrument check an axial side play of a bent shaft (the measuring instrument fix on a forward wall the block by a plunger to a shaft end face).
  1. In case of use of the dial measuring instrument push away a bent shaft against the stop back and nullify the device.
  2. Push a shaft against the stop forward and consider the indication of the arrow indicator. If the working surfaces of the persistent central radical bearing are in good repair, the result of measurement should not exceed 0.30 mm.
  3. In several stages weaken bolts of fastening of the general cover of radical bearings, - act as it should be, the return to an order of their tightening. Components of the general cover of radical bearings are shown on an accompanying illustration. Remember location of long bolts.

  1. Before extraction of a bent shaft it is possible to measure gaps in its radical bearings by means of the calibrated plastic wire from the Plastigage set:
    1. Carefully wipe bearing surfaces pure неворсящейся with rags;
    2. Lay seven pieces of the calibrated wire from measuring set along shaft necks (slightly not on an axis);
    3. Establish the general cover of radical bearings and in a diagonal order, moving from the center outside, tighten bolts of its fastening;

Do not allow a shaft provorachivaniye after laying of wire pieces on it.

    1. Give bolts and carefully uncover, take the lower inserts of bearings;
    2. Having measured on a scale on packing of measuring set width of the flattened-out pieces of the calibrated wire, define gaps in radical bearings of a shaft;
    3. There where the wire is flattened out more gap less and vice versa.
  1. Carefully take a bent shaft from an engine case, - try not to damage and not to drop the top inserts of radical bearings, in particular if you do not plan to make their replacement.
  2. If inserts are subject to replacement, take them from beds in an engine case.

Check of a state

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Estimate a condition and degree of wear of radical and conrod necks of a bent shaft, check them for existence of conicity and ovality. In case of need make a pro-point of necks to the next standard repair size.

Even in case of wear or damage of only one of necks (radical or conrod) also all others have to be pierced (respectively radical or conrod). At the same time it is necessary to prepare new inserts of bearings of the corresponding repair size.

  1. If the nature of wear does not allow to restore shaft necks by a pro-point, the shaft should be replaced.
  2. Check a condition of persistent surfaces of the central bearing (see an accompanying illustration). In case of detection of deep cavities and developments replace bearing inserts that has to normalize an axial side play of a bent shaft.

  1. Even if gaps in radical bearings are recognized as satisfactory, check inserts for existence of scratches, zadir, cracks, cavities and other defects. In case of need replace defective inserts (in pairs).
  2. Lay a bent shaft the ends in V-shaped blocks and by means of the dial measuring instrument measure the size of its beating around the central radical bearing. If the result exceeds 0.10 mm, the shaft should be replaced.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check passability of all maslotok and purity of all necks of a shaft.
  2. Once again wipe inserts of all bearings and oil their pure motive. Correctly place inserts in the beds.

At installation of the top inserts of radical bearings track combination of oil openings in them with the corresponding openings in beds. The top inserts differ in existence of oil flutes.

  1. Lay a bent shaft in the block of cylinders, filling conrod necks in the lower heads of the rods.
  2. Lay the lower inserts of radical bearings in the beds in a cover. Track that landing uvulas of inserts entered reciprocal grooves in a cover.
  3. Grease the lower inserts of radical bearings with pure motive oil and install assembly of a cover of radical bearings on the engine.
  1. Screw bolts of fastening of a cover and in several stages tighten them with effort of 46 ÷ 52 Nanometers in the order shown on an accompanying illustration.

Track that long bolts were screwed in the former openings.

  1. Check freedom of rotation of a bent shaft. Measure an axial side play of a shaft.
  2. Replace a back epiploon of a bent shaft and install on the block the holder.
  3. Put the lower heads of rods on the necks of a shaft. Oil inserts of conrod bearings pure motive and establish covers of bearings on the lower heads of the rods. Track compliance of identification tags of rods and their covers. Tighten fixture of covers of conrod bearings with the required effort.
  4. Install all components removed in the course of dismantle.
