12.6.4. Removal and installation of longitudinal jet bars of a suspension bracket

Implementation of the procedures described below will require a press, suitable mandrels and pipes.

Removal

Top jet bar

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Car back from the relevant party also establish to Poddomkratta it on the props got under a frame of the chassis and assembly of the back bridge.
  2. In case of need remove the corresponding back wheel.
  3. Give a nut of a bolt of fastening of a jet bar to a bridge arm. Try not to damage at the same time brake lines.
  4. Give a nut of a bolt of fastening of a jet bar to a chassis frame arm.
  5. Take bolts, having beaten out them by means of a brass drift (support a bar in the course of knocking-out of bolts). The longitudinal jet bar of a back suspension bracket with details of fixture is shown on an accompanying illustration.

2 — a longitudinal reativny bar
3 — nuts
  1. Remove a jet bar from the car.
  2. Examine a jet bar on existence of cracks and signs of deformation, in case of need make replacement.
  3. Check a condition of plugs in a jet bar. Replace defective plugs:
    1. Prop up a bar under the plug which is subject to replacement with a piece of a pipe of suitable diameter (the plug has to pass freely through a pipe).
    2. By means of the tool which mandrel will rest against an external steel tube of the plug squeeze out the plug of a bar.
    3. Moisten the external surface of the new plug with soap water and begin to push gradually the plug on the svoyeposadochny place by means of a piece of a pipe which will rest against an external steel tube of the plug.
    4. Make sure of perpendicularity of landing of the plug and centrality of its arrangement.

  6. Remove a jet bar from the car, having remembered its adjusting situation - the ends of a bar are slightly displaced.
  7. Examine a jet bar on existence of cracks and signs of deformation, in case of need make replacement.

    4. Make sure of perpendicularity of landing of the plug and centrality of its arrangement.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If replacement of plugs is made, attentively check a condition of axial bolts of bars. Replace worn-out components.
  2. Install a jet bar on the car, install fixture (nuts, washers and rubber plugs), but do not tighten it finally at this stage. Lower the car on the earth.
  3. Several times rock the car for shrinkage of components of a suspension bracket, then tighten a nut of fastening of a bar to a chassis frame with effort of 147 ÷ 177 Nanometers.
  4. Nuts of fastening of bars to the bridge tighten 98 ÷ 137 Nanometers with effort.
