Service of shock-absorbers

Removal and installation

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on the props got under a chassis frame.
    Raise a case of the back bridge by means of the jack got under its central part. It is necessary to unload shock-absorbers completely.
  2. Give a nut of fastening of the top end of the shock-absorber to the car chassis. Remove washers and rubber plugs (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Give a nut of fastening of the lower end of the shock-absorber to a basic plate of the forward bridge. Remove washers.
  2. Remove the shock-absorber from the car.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Track correctness of installation of rubber plugs and washers of fixture.
  2. Track correctness of installation of the shock-absorber. The dustproof coupling has to be turned down and put on the lower end of the shock-absorber.
  3. Tighten the top and lower fixing nuts with effort of 30 ÷ 40 Nanometers after the weight of the car is completely postponed for wheels.

Check and pumping

The description of procedures of check of a condition of the shock-absorber which implementation does not require the special equipment is given below.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Examine the shock-absorber case on existence of dents, other damages and traces of leaks. The defective shock-absorber is not subject to recovery repair and has to be replaced.
  2. Check a condition of rubber plugs. The top plug can be in case of need replaced. At wear or damage of the lower plug it is necessary to replace the shock-absorber assembled.
  3. Clamp the shock-absorber vertically in a vice (for a ring of the lower support).
  4. Undertake the top part of the shock-absorber and, having pulled, lift it against the stop up, then slowly lower down, having completely squeezed the shock-absorber.
  5. Repeat the procedure of the last paragraph six-eight times, having completely eliminated the side plays determined by the air which is present at the shock-absorber. If side plays are not eliminated, the shock-absorber has to be replaced.
