6.1.8. Service of the fuel tank

The procedures described below are applicable to models with a body the Versatile person and Hardtop. For other types of bodies works are performed similarly with necessary amendments on design features of a body. |
Removal and installation
Removal
|
|
- Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
- In the luggage compartment give fixing screws and remove fastened hooks.
- Give fixing screws and remove finishing of fastening of a rug from back door shutters.
- Put a rug forward and give screws of fastening of a cover of access. Uncover.
- Disconnect also to a zakuporta fuel hoses. Disunite the electric socket.

Fuel consumption sensor block, and on models of 3.0 l also a gasoline pump, can be taken from the fuel tank for performance of necessary repair after fixture otdavaniye now. The sensor of fuel consumption of models of 4.2 l taken from a gasoline tank is shown on an accompanying illustration. |

- Car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.

- Carefully turn out a drain stopper of a gasoline tank (see an accompanying illustration) and merge fuel in a pure canister. Screw a stopper into place and strongly tighten it.

- Working through an aperture of an arch of the right back wheel, give bolts of fastening of the filter of a jellied mouth to the tank case, remove the screen.
- Weaken collars of fastening of a jellied mouth and a tube of withdrawal of fuel evaporations (the corresponding components of a tank of models of 4.2 l are shown on an accompanying illustration).
- Give fixing bolts and lower the gasoline tank filter down.
- Give bolts of fastening of a tank to the chassis and carefully take a tank from under the car. Before extraction of a tank once again make sure that the jellied mouth and a tube of withdrawal of fuel evaporations are disconnected.

Installation
Installation is made upside-down.
|
|
- Track that all hoses were in good repair and are connected correctly to the unions.
- At installation of a tank track correctness of connection of tubes of a jellied mouth to it and withdrawal of fuel evaporations.
- Fill in pure fuel in a tank and check it for leaks.
