6.1.3. Service of the carburetor

Removal and installation

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove assembly of the air cleaner from the carburetor.
  3. Disconnect from the carburetor a hose of supply of fuel and its zakuporta in order to avoid hit in a dirt power supply system.
  1. Mark and disconnect from the carburetor vacuum hoses (on an accompanying illustration the air cleaner is raised for display of vacuum connections (the engine of 4.2 l)).
  1. Disunite electric sockets of the carburetor.
  2. The driving lever transfer a butterfly valve to completely open situation and, using the formed weak point of a driving cable, disconnect the last from the lever of a butterfly valve.
  3. Give nuts of fastening of the carburetor on the inlet pipeline, remove washers. Remove the carburetor with laying. You will throw out laying.
  4. On models of 3.0 l disunite the electric socket and remove the heater.
  5. Zakuporte an entrance opening of the inlet pipeline pure неворсящейся rags in order to avoid hit in the engine of foreign objects.

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Surely establish new laying between the carburetor and the inlet pipeline. In case of need previously carefully remove from the interfaced surfaces traces old, watching that the garbage did not fall in the inlet pipeline.
  2. Check the carburetor for existence of signs of leak of fuel and losses of depression. After warming up of the engine adjust idling turns.

When performing capital repairs of the carburetor it is necessary to pay attention to the next moments:

  1. All components have to be washed carefully out in suitable solvent and are checked for existence of signs of wear and damages;

Do not immerse in solvent electromagnetic assemblies and components with vacuum diaphragms

  1. Try to put all components removed from the carburetor separately and with a binding to their situation in assembly;
  2. For a clearing of various jets, throttles and channels use only compressed air. Blocking should not be eliminated by means of a wire or other sort of probes at all!
  3. When performing capital repairs of the carburetor use special pro-masonry remnabor and without fail replace all removed diaphragms and sealing rings. Replace also all worn-out components.
  4. In order to avoid damage of jets and heads of screws use at their removal / installation screw-drivers and wrenches only of a suitable standard size.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the carburetor from the car.
  2. Disconnect returnable springs of butterfly valves from the lever of the drive of the accelerating pump.
  3. Remove an E-shaped clip and a washer of fastening of the lever of the drive of the accelerating pump to the top cover of the carburetor (the main components of the carburetor are presented on an accompanying illustration).

  1. Remove an E-shaped clip of a cam of bystry idling, then, holding a cam, disconnect a returnable spring.
  2. Release a clamp of each of wires in the electric socket of the carburetor. Try to remember the provision of wires in the socket.
  3. Disconnect a returnable spring of a priotkryvatel of the air gate of automatic equipment of start from assembly of automatic equipment.
  4. Give fixing screws and partially separate the top cover from the main case of the carburetor. Disconnect the lever of the drive of the air gate from an axis of turn of the last.
  5. Remove the top cover with laying from the main case of the carburetor.
  6. Remove a spring of the accelerating pump from the main case.
  7. If that is established, pick up the reducing phone of a plastic flowmeter located over a jet of idling of II.
  8. Turn the main case upside down and take an E-shaped clip and draft of the drive of a diaphragm of a butterfly valve of II.
  9. Give fixing screws in the lower part of the case of throttles. Remember location of the hollow screw.
  10. Remove the main case with laying from the case of throttles. Remove the insulator from the case.
  11. Now the carburetor will be disassembled on three main knots - the top cover, the main case and the case of throttles.
  12. Service of knots of the top cover of the carburetor
  13. Remove a lock plate of a hollow bolt of an admission of fuel.
  14. Turn out a hollow bolt, pick up the phone of an admission of fuel, a washer and the filter. Check a condition of the filter, in case of need clean it, or replace.
  15. Remove plunger assembly of the accelerating pump. Check a plunger for existence of signs of wear and damages. In case of need replace a plunger.
  16. In case of the corresponding complete set give fixing screws and remove from the top cover plastic ventilating assembly with laying.
  17. By means of dinnogubets take an axial finger of a float from the top cover, then remove a float, the needle valve.
  18. By means of the screw-driver take from the top cover a saddle of the needle valve with a washer.
  19. Remove a spring clip of fastening of a needle on a float. Check components of the needle valve for existence of signs of wear, replace defective.
  20. Check the top cover for existence of cracks and other damages. Make sure that the air gate of automatic equipment of start moves freely, without breakthroughs and points of jamming.
  21. On models of 3.0 l make sure that the bimetallic plate of the device of impoverishment of mix idling at the heated-up engine is not broken and otherwise it is not damaged.
  22. You make assembly upside-down.

Service of knots of the top cover of the carburetor

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a lock plate of a hollow bolt of an admission of fuel (components of the top cover of the carburetor are shown on an accompanying illustration).

  1. Turn out a hollow bolt, pick up the phone of an admission of fuel, a washer and the filter. Check a condition of the filter, in case of need clean it, or replace.
  2. Remove plunger assembly of the accelerating pump. Check a plunger for existence of signs of wear and damages. In case of need replace a plunger.
  3. In case of the corresponding complete set give fixing screws and remove from the top cover plastic ventilating assembly with laying.
  4. By means of dinnogubets take an axial finger of a float from the top cover, then remove a float, the needle valve.

  1. By means of the screw-driver take from the top cover a saddle of the needle valve with a washer.
  2. Remove a spring clip of fastening of a needle on a float. Check components of the needle valve for existence of signs of wear, replace defective.
  3. Check the top cover for existence of cracks and other damages. Make sure that the air gate of automatic equipment of start moves freely, without breakthroughs and points of jamming.
  4. On models of 3.0 l make sure that the bimetallic plate of the device of impoverishment of mix idling at the heated-up engine is not broken and otherwise it is not damaged.
  5. You make assembly upside-down.

Service of knots of the main case

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove from the main case the electromagnetic locking valve with a washer. By means of the battery of 12 V check serviceability of functioning of the valve, having pressed it the case to the negative plug of the battery, and having connected a wire to positive. The valve plunger at the same time has to be involved. In case of need replace the valve.
  2. At the corresponding complete set remove the electromagnetic valve of quality management of mix during a deseleration (BCDD) with a washer from BCDD assembly.

  1. Give fixing screws and remove assembly of BCDD from the main case of the carburetor.

  1. Give fixing screws and remove from the main case a side cover of a fuel chamber, laying, a cap plate (or viewing glass) and a sealant (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. At the corresponding complete set give fixing screws and remove a damper of bystry idling.
  2. Give fixing screws and remove assembly of a butterfly valve of II from the main case.
  3. Remove a spring clip from a well of a plunger of the accelerating pump. Turn the main case upside down and take the mesh screen and a ball (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Remove a stopper of fixing of a digit small weight of the accelerating pump, turn the main case and take a small weight, a spring and a ball (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Remove the main air jets. Give fixing screws and remove sprays from the main case. The removed components are shown on an accompanying illustration.

  1. Take the remained jets from the main case.

It is important that at assembly jets were established correctly. Otherwise inevitably there will be problems with functioning of the engine. In case of need address dimensional characteristics of jets (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management).

  1. Carefully wash out each jet in suitable solvent, then blow it compressed air.

In order to avoid drawing damages do not make at all attempts to clean jets by means of a wire or thin drills.

  1. Carefully wash out solvent the main case of the carburetor and dry it compressed air.
  2. By means of the manual vacuum pump check serviceability of a diaphragm of a butterfly valve of II. Replace defective components.

Service of knots of the case of throttles

In view of the admissions accepted by manufacturers probability of the correct reproduction of landing of axes of butterfly valves in the case of throttles it is insignificant it is small. For this reason in case of damage of axes it is necessary to replace the case of throttles assembled.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models with AT give fixing bolts and remove the sensor switch of a butterfly valve from the case of throttles.
  2. Wash out the case of throttles in suitable solvent and dry it compressed air.
  3. Check drafts of the drive of butterfly valves for lack of signs of jamming, in case of need grease the drive.
  4. On models with AT install on the place on the case of throttles the sensor switch of a butterfly valve, then execute its adjustment.

Assembly of the carburetor

Assembly to be made as it should be, the return to a dismantle order.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Using new laying, connect the case of throttles to the main case of the carburetor. Reliably tighten fixing bolts. Track that the hollow screw was screwed on the former place in the throttle case (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Establish a diaphragm of a butterfly valve of II and record it an E-shaped clip.
  2. Establish plunger assembly of the accelerating pump about the well. Without fail replace laying of the top cover of the carburetor.
  3. Install the top cover on the main case and connect the lever of the drive of the air gate to a rotary axis of the last. Strongly tighten fixing screws.
  4. Establish a cam of bystry idling with a spring, put on an E-shaped clip an axis.
  5. Install the axial plug of the lever of the drive of the accelerating pump and connect the lever to an axis. Put on an E-shaped clip an axis and connect returnable springs of butterfly valves.
  6. Connect a returnable spring of a butterfly valve II to assembly start automatic equipment.
  7. Connect wires to the electric socket of the carburetor, - everyone on the former place.
  8. Install the carburetor on the inlet pipeline.
  9. In case of need adjust turns of idling and turns of bystry idling.

Checks and adjustments

Adjustment of installation of level of fuel in float-operated

On some models the carburetor is equipped with a special observation port. If fuel level before removal and dismantling of the carburetor was in an observation port normal, and replacement of a needle and saddle of the needle valve in the course of performing procedures of service was not made, additional adjustment is not required.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove from the carburetor the top cover with laying.
  2. Turn the top cover so that the uvula of a saddle of a float rested against the needle valve.
  1. Measure distance And (see an accompanying illustration) from float top to a pro-masonry surface of the top cover of the carburetor. On models of 4.2 l it has to equal 9.5 ÷ 10.5 mm, on models of 3.0 l - 5.0 ÷ 6.0 mm.
  1. In case of need adjustment performance accurately turn in a float saddle uvula, trying to obtain the required value. Track that the needle valve smoothly crawled over a float uvula.
  2. Turn the top cover in normal situation, having allowed a lock uvula of a float to make contact with an emphasis.
  1. Measure distance In (see an accompanying illustration) from a pro-masonry surface of the top cover of the carburetor to a float bottom. On models of 4.2 l the result has to make 47.5 ÷ 48.5 mm, on models of 3.0 l - 44.0 ÷ 45.0 mm.
  1. For adjustment performance accurately turn in a lock uvula.
  2. Install the top cover on the carburetor, start the engine and check it for existence of losses of depression and leak of fuel.

Adjustment of turns of bystry idling without removal of the carburetor from the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. According to instructions of manufacturers connect a tachometer and make installation of turns and quality of mix of idling. Kill the engine.
  1. Open a butterfly valve and install the adjusting screw on the second step of a cam of bystry idling (see an accompanying illustration - on an insert the screw installed on the second step of a cam is shown).
  1. Without touching the accelerator pedal, start the engine and compare indications of a tachometer to standard requirements (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management).
  2. In case of need performance of adjustment weaken a lock-nut of the adjusting screw of bystry idling and, rotating the screw, achieve the required indication.

Adjustment of turns of bystry idling on the carburetor removed from the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Open a butterfly valve and install the adjusting screw on the second step of a cam of bystry idling.
  1. Measure a gap And (see an accompanying illustration) between a butterfly valve I and internal walls of the carburetor. Compare result of measurement to data of size tables and adjustments.
  1. For performance of adjustment weaken a lock-nut of the adjusting screw of bystry idling and, rotating the screw, achieve the required indication.

Adjustment of the vacuum drive of a priotkryvaniye of the air gate

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure that at the cold engine the air gate is completely closed.
  2. Create depression on a priotkryvatel of the air gate and slightly push a piston rod towards a diaphragm of a priotkryvatel.
  3. Measure a gap between edge of the air gate and an internal wall of primary camera. Compare result to requirements of size tables and adjustments.
  4. For adjustment performance slightly turn in draft on an axis.

Adjustment of a damper of a butterfly valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Connect a tachometer and expose turns quality of mix of idling.
  2. Open a butterfly valve and check engine turns at contact of a damper with the adjusting screw. Compare result of measurements to requirements of size tables and adjustments.
  3. In case of need performance of adjustments turn the adjusting screw on the end of an axis of the gate in the required direction and repeat verification of the previous paragraph.
  4. Make sure that turns smoothly fall from 2 000 to 1 000 in a minute approximately in three seconds.

Adjustment of turns of idling at the switched-on air conditioner

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Connect a tachometer and expose turns quality of mix of idling.
  2. Turn on the conditioner of air and check idling turns. Compare result to data of size tables and adjustments.
  3. For performance of adjustment on models from AT and 3.0 l turn in the corresponding direction the adjusting screw at a damper end face. On models of 4.2 l with RKPP adjustment is carried out by rotation of the screw on the end of an axis of a butterfly valve.

Adjustment of turns and quality of mix of idling

The procedure is in detail described in the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance.

Check of serviceability of functioning of automatic equipment of start

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On the cold engine completely open a butterfly valve and make sure that the air gate is closed. Track that adjusting tags on a cover of starting automatic equipment and the case of the carburetor were combined.

If the air gate is not closed, check its axis for existence of signs of jamming.

  1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Make sure that the air gate completely opened.
  2. If the gate opened not up to the end, connect a lamp sampler between a wire on the case of power supply of automatic equipment of start and the next reliably grounded point. If there is no current (the lamp does not burn), check a condition of the relay and an electrical wiring of automatic equipment of start.

Check of serviceability of functioning of the electromagnetic locking valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disunite the electric socket of the carburetor.
  2. Give tension from the battery on the plugs (y) shown on an accompanying illustration. During the giving and power off the click of operation of the valve has to be clearly heard.

  1. Otherwise replace the valve.

Adjustment of the sensor switch of a butterfly valve (only models with AT)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check correctness of installation of turns of idling on the engine which is warmed up up to the normal working temperature. Kill the engine.
  2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of a butterfly valve and the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve.
  3. Start the engine and check idling turns in position "N" of the lever of the selector.
  1. Check existence of conductivity between plugs A and B (see an accompanying illustration).
  1. Make sure, contacts of the sensor switch are disconnected at excess of single turns at a size of 250 ± 150 rpm in the provision of transmission "N".
  2. If there is a need for adjustment, weaken bolts of fastening of the sensor switch and rotation of the last achieve disconnection of contacts at the right time (at the stipulated turns).
  3. Tighten bolts of fastening of the sensor switch and check correctness of adjustment.
  4. Connect an electrical wiring to the sensor switch of a butterfly valve and the sensor of position of the gate.
