12.1.1. Service of naves of forward wheels and power shafts

Implementation of the procedures described below will require the following special tools: A replaceable face head on 53 mm (models with the manual drive of switching of a nave), or a self-made nozzle (models with the automatic drive) - for an otdavaniye and tightening of a nut of the stupichny bearing.

Removal and dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Weaken nuts of fastening of a forward wheel.
  2. Car front also establish to Poddomkratta it on the props got under frame longerons. Remove a forward wheel.
  3. If it is required to make replacement of a power shaft, turn out a drain stopper and lower oil from a case of the forward bridge of the car.
  4. Give fixing bolts and remove a support of the brake mechanism from a rotary fist. Tie up a support aside to a suspension bracket element, having tracked that did not stretch and it was not overwound a brake hose.
  5. On models with the manual drive of switching of a nave (components of a nave are shown on an accompanying illustration):

    1. Release the nave drive (position of FREE), give fixing bolts and remove the drive from a wheel nave.
    2. Remove a lock ring from the end of a power shaft and take the driving coupling.
    3. Remove the plug and a remote ring from a wheel nave. Unbend a tag of a lock washer and by means of a replaceable head on 53 mm give a lock nut of the stupichny bearing. You will throw out a lock washer, turn off a stupichny nut and remove a washer from a rotary pin.
  1. On models with the automatic drive of switching of a nave:
    1. Switch the drive to position of LOCK, give fixing bolts and remove the drive from a wheel nave. Remove and will throw out a sealing ring.
    2. Remove a lock ring from the end of a power shaft and take internal brake assembly.
    3. Give screws of fastening of a lock washer, remove a lock plate and turn off a stupichny nut on a rotary pin by means of specially independently manufactured adaptation (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. Remove assembly of a nave with a disk from a rotary pin. Try not to drop at the same time a cone of the external bearing.
  2. Having hooked the suitable lever or the screw-driver, remove an epiploon from the inside of a nave and you will throw out it. Remove also a cone of the internal bearing.

If stupichny bearings are removed only for restuffing by their lubricant, there is no need for extraction of their cups, and therefore the procedure of the following paragraph can be lowered.

  1. Prop up stupichny assembly and by means of a brass drift beat out from it internal and external cups of bearings. Extraction of an internal cup is made since the internal end of a nave, external - with external.
  2. Mark the provision of a nave of rather brake disk, then give fixing bolts and separate a disk from a nave.
  3. Give bolts of fastening of a brake board and a rotary fist to a rotary pin, then remove a boot with a board.
  4. The hammer with soft brisk beat out a pin from a rotary fist.
  5. Having established a rotary fist in rectilinear situation, take a power shaft from a bridge case. Remove a persistent washer from a shaft.
  6. Remove an epiploon from the back party of a rotary pin, then by means of a drift take the basic bearing of a power shaft (components of a rotary pin are shown on an accompanying illustration). You will throw out the bearing.

  1. By means of the hammer with sliding brisk take from a bridge case an internal epiploon of a power shaft (see an accompanying illustration).

  1. In case of need sort on the switchings of a nave making assembly of the drive (see an accompanying illustration):

Good practice is periodic dismantling, check of a state and greasing of components of the drive of switching by universal lubricant on a lithium basis.

The block of the automatic drive of switching is not subject to dismantling and in case of refusal is replaced entirely.

    1. Mark the provision of a casing of the drive of switching of a nave in relation to a clutch coupling.
    2. Turn a casing, take rollers and turn out a clutch coupling.
    3. By means of the screw-driver with a flat sting remove a lock ring of fastening of the handle of switching in a casing. Beat out the handle from a casing, having tried not to drop at the same time a ball with a spring.

Cleaning and check of a condition of components

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wash out all components, except for epiploons, in the cleaning solvent and dry them compressed air.

In order to avoid getting injured or damage of bearings do not rotate them, blowing in compressed air.

  1. Check roller bearings and their cups for existence of cavities, signs of wear and damages. In case of need make replacement.

Replacement of separate components of the bearing in an individual order is not represented possible therefore in case of detection of defects replacement of the bearing assembled is made.

  1. Check a condition of a carving on the end of a rotary pin and in a stupichny nut.
  2. Check a nave for existence of cracks and other damages.
  3. Examine a power shaft on existence of cracks and signs of wear of shlits. Estimate freedom of rotation of the CV JOINT at the external power shaft turned at an angle.

If the power shaft or the CV JOINT are recognized unusable to further use, it is necessary to replace them assembled.

  1. Check a persistent washer and a nut of a nave for existence of cracks and signs of wear.
  2. Examine a casing of the drive of switching of a nave on existence of cracks and other damages. Check freedom of movement in a clutch coupling casing.
  3. Check a condition of a sealing ring in the manual drive, in case of need replace a ring.

If any components of the manual drive of switching of a nave, except a coupling gear wheel, are recognized as faulty, it is necessary to replace the drive assembled. Manufacturers of the car do not impose any special requirements to a replaceable lock ring.

  1. Replace defective components.

Assembly and installation

If in the description of the procedure especially not a slander lubricant type, then use of universal lubricant on a lithium basis is meant.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. By means of a suitable mandrel establish an internal epiploon in a bridge case. Put an epiploon aflush with edges of bore. Grease epiploon sponges.
  2. Fill the CV JOINT of a power shaft a disulfide - molybdenum lubricant on a lithium basis, insert a shaft into a case of the bridge and enter it into gearing with differential vents. Try not to damage an internal epiploon of a shaft during implementation of this procedure.
  3. Grease a persistent washer and put on it a power shaft.
  4. By means of a suitable mandrel install the new basic bearing of a power shaft and an epiploon in a back part of a rotary pin. Grease the installed components.
  5. Establish assembly of a rotary pin on a power shaft and a rotary fist. Begin to knock assembly before full landing by the hammer with soft brisk.
  6. Grease a boot, establish a board of the brake mechanism with a boot on a rotary pin and tighten fixing bolts with effort of 30 ÷ 40 Nanometers.
  7. Establish a brake disk on a nave, having tracked combination of the tags of mutual situation put in the course of dismantle. Tighten fixing bolts with effort of 50 ÷ 68 Nanometers.
  8. By means of a brass drift install cups of bearings in a nave (narrowings outside and in different directions).
  1. Fill cones of internal and external bearings high-temperature lubricant on a lithium basis, carefully filling it interroller space, an internal holder and a separator (see an accompanying illustration).
  1. Establish a cone of the internal bearing in a nave, then put a nave epiploon aflush with an end face of the last narrowing to the bearing. Grease epiploon sponges.
  2. Fill a cavity in a nave between cups of bearings high-temperature lubricant on a lithium basis and dress a nave on a rotary pin.
  3. Prop up stupichny assembly and establish a cone of the external bearing.
  4. On models with the manual drive of switching of a nave establish a lock washer on a rotary pin.
  1. Grease a surface of a nut of a nave and adjust a pretightness of bearings:
    1. Tighten a nut with effort of 167 ÷ 196 Nanometers, several times turn a wheel nave diversely, then completely release a nut.
    2. Tighten a nut with effort of 3 ÷ 5 Nanometers, several times turn a nave in both directions and again tighten a nut with effort of 3 ÷ 5 Nanometers. Again rotate a nave in different directions.
    3. Fix the dial measuring instrument, having leaned its plunger against a surface of a nave and measure the size of an axial side play of a nave (see an accompanying illustration). If the result of measurement exceeds value of 0.08 mm, remove stupichny assembly and check correctness of installation of bearings and a navorachivaniye of a nut (whether there was no its perekashivaniye on a carving).
  1. On models with the automatic drive of switching establish a lock plate and strongly tighten screws of its fastening.
  1. On models with the manual drive perform the following procedures:
    1. Grease a new persistent washer, put on it a rotary pin, screw a lock-nut and tighten it with effort of 167 ÷ 196 Nanometers.
    2. Impose not less than six grams of lubricant on internal walls of the plug, then by means of the hammer with soft brisk put a remote ring and the plug in a nave.
    3. Impose not less than six grams of lubricant on the outer edge of a flange of the driving coupling and install the coupling on a rotary pin.
    4. Grasp the end of a power shaft and extend it outside from a rotary pin. Enclose in a flute on the end of a shaft a lock ring, then by means of the probe of lezviyny type measure the size of an axial side play of a shaft. The side play should not exceed values of 0.2 mm. In case of need change a lock ring on new, the corresponding thickness.

The old ring is replaced without fail.

    1. Carefully grease components of the drive of switching of a nave.
    2. Put on a new sealing ring the switching handle. Fill a spring and a ball in the handle, then put it in a casing, watching that the ball got to a flute. Establish a lock ring.
    3. Holding the handle in position of LOCK, screw a clutch coupling in a casing so that the driving gear wheel appeared aflush with the coat hanger pierced in the top end face of a casing (see an accompanying illustration), and the landing tags put in the course of dismantle were combined.

    1. Grease the end of a power shaft and, having transferred the handle to position of FREE, establish assembly of the drive of switching of a nave to a power shaft. Tighten fixing bolts with effort of 54 ÷ 59 Nanometers and check smoothness of switching of the drive.
  1. On models with the automatic drive of switching of a nave:
    1. Dress internal brake assembly and a washer on a power shaft.
    2. Grasp the end of a power shaft and extend it outside from a rotary pin. Enclose in a flute on the end of a shaft a lock ring, then by means of the probe of lezviyny type measure the size of an axial side play of a shaft. The side play should not exceed values of 0.2 mm. In case of need change a lock ring on new, the corresponding thickness.

The old ring is replaced without fail.

    1. Grease internal brake assembly and an internal part of assembly of the drive of switching of a nave.
    2. Switch assembly of the drive to position of LOCK and slightly press it to a forward nave, having tracked that the acting ends of a wire clip were not combined with drive otpuskaniye brake ledges. In case of need remove assembly of the drive if it is not possible to press it to a forward nave densely.
    3. Screw fixing bolts and tighten them with effort of 54 ÷ 64 Nanometers.
  1. Establish a brake support and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 72 ÷ 79 Nanometers.
  2. Fill in in a case of the forward bridge necessary amount of oil of the required grade (see size tables and adjustments at the end of the Management).
  3. On models with the automatic drive of switching of naves of forward wheels include the mode 4WD and establish transmission on transfer. Switch the drive to position of AUTO and, for an otpuskaniye of naves, serially rotate each of forward wheels in both directions, holding at etomprotivopolozhny not movably.
