1.7. Start of the engine from an auxiliary source

At start of the engine from an external source it is necessary to remember need of implementation of the following requirements:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before connection of the auxiliary battery make sure that the ignition key is turned in the provision of "OFF" (Off).
  2. Switch off all lighting fixtures, a heater and other electric loadings.
  3. Take care of protection of your eyes. It is the best of all to use goggles.
  4. Make sure that the auxiliary battery is calculated on the same rated voltage, as the battery of your car.
  5. Two cars should not adjoin among themselves at all!
  6. Make sure that transmission is established in the provision of neutral transfer (RKPP) or "P" (AT).
  7. If the auxiliary battery is not the battery of not demanding service of type, remove ventilating covers and cover air vents with rags.

Connect a red wire of big section from a set for start of the car from an external source to positive (+) to plugs of both batteries. Connect one end of a black wire from a set to negative
(-) to the plug of the auxiliary battery, and another - to reliably grounded point of the started car (for example, a bolt or an arm on the engine block). Make sure that wires do not concern blades of the fan, driving belts and other moving elements of the engine.

Make start of the car, then, having left the engine working at single turns, turn on the heater voltmeter motor (on the maximum speed) or a heater of back glass for smoothing of power surges which can arise at a detachment of wires (do not turn on lighting fixtures as sharp peaks of tension can lead to burn-out of lamps). Disconnect wires, working as it should be the return to an order of their connection.

Connect wires for start of the car from an auxiliary source in the order specified on an accompanying illustration by numbers (pay attention that the wire going from the negative plug of the auxiliary battery is not connected to the negative plug of the sat-down battery).
